However this is day two and she's hobbling around on three paws, so we call her tri-pod. (Real original I know!) She seems to be getting better slowly and hopefully she won't be needing to go to the vet for a long time!

Crazy Night!
On Monday we came home and found Buttercup had knocked the box fan out of the front window and had not gotten down quick enough because her paw was stuck in the window. We are not sure how long she was stuck but her paw looked pretty smashed and both her front paws were really swollen. We called a few vets and decided to take her in. After a few x-rays, a morphine drip, and 3+ hours at a very cold vets office we took our pups home. She couldn't stand at all let alone walk. Nothing is broken however she may have a few fractures, they can't tell for sure until the swelling goes down. Her blood flow is good both above and below where her wrist was crushed which was a real concern because they thought that the blood veins might be too damaged...if so that would have meant surgery, which we couldn't do.

You can't tell how bad it is in this pic, but her front paws are about the size of a 70 pound dog instead of her usual 25 pound size! She was drinking water and started to fall asleep in the dish. It must have been all the drugs she was on.

Poor Pup!
I know just how she must feel after a morphine drip...it's horrible!
Hope she's up and around and back to normal soon!
